About Mahshid
Mahshid has always had an interest in health care. She began her journey with a special interest in psychology and mental health promotion. This journey brought her to Seattle Children's Hospital, where she worked with families as they navigated the complex health care system to support their children’s medical needs. Through this experience, Mahshid saw the benefits of early support that prioritizes emotional, spiritual, and physical wellbeing and the vital role this plays in the health experience of the whole family.
Mahshid completed her undergraduate degree at University of Washington. She became a midwife in 2016 after completing her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Seattle University. She is accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Mahshid and her family moved to Spokane in 2016 where she began her midwifery practice and attended births at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Mahshid believes that pregnancy and birth are transformational experiences in a person’s life and strives to provide care that is compassionate, family centered, and honors each individual’s unique place in the world. Mahshid enjoys building ongoing and supportive relationships with clients and feels honored to care for and celebrate the milestones throughout their lifespan. Her interests in this field include providing contraceptive care, optimizing health in preparation for pregnancy, fertility guidance, and care during pregnancy and birth. Families describe Mahshid as having a calm, gentle, and warm presence in their care while providing family-centered and evidence-based care to support their goals.
