About Megan

Megan was inspired to be a social worker by her passion for social justice advocacy and her own personal experiences. Megan strives to take her passions and channel them into her work to give back to her community. She fell in love with the mental health field working with teens and their families who were experiencing mental health crises. In this position, Megan loved having the freedom and creativity to meet families where they were at and giving them support in their homes and community. Over the years, she has worked in schools, nonprofits, medical, and government settings providing advocacy, support, and mental health therapy.

Megan was born and raised in the Central Valley of California, moving to Washington in 2010. She decided to go back to school when her kids were all officially in elementary school and started taking classes at Clover Park Technical college in the Human Service program. After graduating, Megan continued her education at Pacific Lutheran University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, and then at Our Lady of the Lake University earning a Masters degree in Social Work.

Megan has always had an interest in working with pregnant people and in postpartum support. Being pregnant as a teen and receiving care that left her feeling worthless and unheard was one of her first lessons in how horrible the American medical system can be. Additionally, she experienced further parenting challenges as a mother of 4 and a woman of color who was struggling financially. This gave her firsthand knowledge of how hard it can be to navigate this world as a pregnant and postpartum person with intersectional identities. Megan believes in a holistic approach when working with people, not a one-size-fits-all. We all have our unique experiences, strengths, and beliefs that are important when it comes to our holistic health and wellbeing.
