About Nadia

Nadia’s interest in midwifery began after witnessing a midwife-attended birth as a nursing student. The labor was not progressing — until a midwife took over. With confidence, calmness, and grace, the midwife encouraged new birthing positions and pushing techniques that resulted in a vaginal birth within minutes. That was the moment Nadia knew she wanted to empower people during their birth experiences as a nurse-midwife.

Before becoming a birthworker, Nadia worked as a nurse in a female prison, a quality management nurse for Medicaid, an orthopedic nurse, and a postpartum nurse. Her nursing experiences shaped the care she wanted to provide as a midwife. She completed her midwifery education at Frontier Nursing University in 2017 and is an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives. With a passion for travel and to see how care was provided in different areas of the country, Nadia worked as a travel midwife and travel labor and delivery nurse for a few years. During that time, Nadia had the privilege and honor of caring for people with different cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Her desire to provide evidence-based, culturally competent, trauma-informed, inclusive care was strengthened as she saw this practice style was the exception rather than the norm across the country.

As a knowledge-seeker, Nadia is constantly learning new ideas and concepts. She loves finding ways to improve her care and expand her knowledge. She has additional education in perinatal mood disorders, substance use disorders, integrative healthcare, and care of people who are underserved by the traditional healthcare system. Nadia’s patients describe her as non-judgemental, down-to-earth, a great listener, and a partner in their healthcare needs and desires. Nadia’s goal as a midwife is to provide people with the tools and education so they can make informed and empowered decisions about their healthcare.
