Shaee DavisCertified Nurse-Midwife
DNP, CNM, ARNP
- Practicing since: 2019
- Renton & King County
Shaee always knew that she wanted to be part of the healthcare field and began her journey by entering the US Air Force as a dental technician. After several years practicing dentistry while stationed in the South, she experienced her first pregnancy. Unfortunately, Shaee often felt unheard by her prenatal care provider and was left with many unanswered questions. She felt scared and unprepared when she went into labor, which is where everything changed for her. Her doctor was not available, and as fate had it, a midwife attended her labor. The gentle care, support, and respect the midwife gave liberated and had a revolutionary impact on Shaee as a woman and on her life’s purpose. Now, as a midwife, Shaee is delighted to serve families with evidence-based care that embodies empowerment and empathy, while tailoring her care to the individual needs of each pregnant person.
Shaee continued to serve in the military, however, she changed her course from the dental field and eventually attained a Registered Nurse baccalaureate degree at Auburn University. After specializing as a certified labor, delivery, and postpartum RN for 8 years, Shaee completed a Doctor of Nurse Practice – Nurse-Midwifery at the University of Washington. Shaee benefited from creating professional relationships and staying updated with cutting-edge evidence by maintaining an active membership in the American College of Nurse Midwives.
The experience she gained from practicing full-scope midwifery in the military since 2019 enriched Shaee’s focus for advocating for the dynamic needs of families. Gentle touch, warm approach, self-awareness, and celebrating the beauty of each soul are cornerstones to her approach. Shaee enjoys delivering care in a manner that complements evidence-based practices with thoughtful approaches that offer a sense of belonging, trust, and equality.
