My journey into healthcare started very young as I spent much of my time in hospitals helping to care for my sister. Seeing the nurses and doctors and how much they changed my sister's story positively, I knew that is what I wanted to do with my life; I just needed to find where I belonged. I started my career early at the age of 18 working at a pediatric clinic. I loved playing such a vital role in childrens' health and being able to see all the babies grow into amazing little kids. After becoming pregnant, for the first time I started questioning if I had picked the right specialty. I knew I loved babies and children, but it really made me look at the mothers in a whole new light. Seeing the strength each mother has and the toll pregnancy can have on mental and physical health really made me want to dive into learning about women's health even more.

I was awarded my CCMA in 2019 after completing a year of on-the-job training as well as online courses. After spending years in pediatrics, I am new to women's health, but I belived the midwives at Quilted embody all the qualities every person deserves to be shown through their health journey and pregnancy - kindness, empathy, and empowerment. After having two completely different pregnancy experiences of my own, one that was disconnected and one where I felt truly heard and valued, has made me feel so passionate about the work we do here. Being able to help our clients know their value and worth is the reason I got into this profession.

I feel incredibly fortunate in my healthcare career to have worked alongside people who share the same values and empathy for treating patients with dignity and compassion, regardless of age, gender, or race. When you're surrounded by that kind of mindset, it doesn't even feel like work. This is truly what I’m meant to do, and I love being there with others and sharing that passion every day.
